AICRP on Fruits
( AICRP - Fruits )

Organogram

  • The ICAR-AICRP on Fruits has been one of the model in sharing the resources as this project has been formed following the merger of Tropical and Sub-Tropical Fruits. Accordingly, it has been acknowledged an appreciation by the Planning Commission owing to its mechanism of effective utilization of human resources and budget in collaborative mode for delivering technologies to different agro-climatic regions of mandate crops. The restructured mode of ICAR-AICRP on Fruits is to empower the National Research Centres for banana, grapes and litchi and Central Citrus Research Institute for better coordination and scientific output of the respective mandate crops besides effective utilization of the resources. Thus, for these fruit crops the monitoring and technical coordination will be done by the respective NRCs/CCRI. However, the financial and administrative aspect will be governed by the Project Coordination (Fruits). The remaining mandated crops viz., mango, guava, papaya, sapota and jackfruit is coordinated by the Project Coordinator on Fruits with complete re sponsibility (administrative/ financial, technical coordination and monitoring). This mechanism also ensured in double blind evaluation (3rd party evaluation).

  • For the effective implementation as well as reporting of individual trials, a new concept of lead scientist/presenter has been introduced in ICAR-AICRP on Fruits, who is the focal person between Project Coordinator and the participating centres. This enabled in single window system for message delivery and consolidation. It also enabled in sharing the responsibility of the team. The details of its operation has been furnished in flow chart-1.
