The project aims to facilitate the adoption and development of equipment and technologies to reduce post-harvest losses and produce value-added products from various crops and commodities. It also focuses on the development of agro-processing centres (APCs) in different production catchments for rural industrialization, income augmentation, and employment generation. The project includes the popularization, dissemination, and commercialization of proven post-harvest technologies.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
- Improvement or substitution of the prevailing post-harvest practices and unit operation.
- To develop value chains and pilot plants for different agricultural commodities.
- Utilization of agricultural by-products to increase income of the farmer.
- Field evaluation of developed technologies at multiple locations to identify technical, social constraints and take measures for popularization using different digital and social media platforms.
