Capacity building is an investment in the future sustainability of a project. It enhances the capability of the project team through creation of modern infrastructure and strengthening ability to fulfil the project mission and objectives. Efforts have been made to equip 19 pesticide residue laboratories of All India Network Project on Pesticide Residues (AINP-PR) spread across the country with modern research infrastructure. The participating laboratories have been upgraded with state-of-the-art GC/GC-MS/LC/LC-MS/MS and other equipments to undertake qualitative & quantitative analysis as well as confirmation of pesticide residues in food commodities (vegetables, fruits, cereals, pulses, oilseeds, spices, sugarcane, milk and milk products etc.) and in soil and water samples at trace level.
