The network project conducts the research in multidisciplinary and inter-disciplinary mode in collaboration with 9 SAUs based institutes, other ICAR institutes including NBPGR, New Delhi, NIRJAFT, Kolkata, PPV&FRA New Delhi, Directorate of Jute Development (DJD), Kolkata and Department of Agriculture of different jute and allied fibre growing states of the country. The AINP on J&AF centres have scientists of different disciplines including Plant Breeding, Agronomy, Soil Science, Microbiology, Entomology and Plant Pathology. Besides, the support of disciplines like, Agril. Engineering, Textile Engineering is obtained from other ICAR institutes. Exploration, evaluation, maintenance and registration of germplasm/lines is taken up in collaboration of NBPGR and PPV&FRA, New Delhi. The DJD under Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and the State Agriculture Departments collaborate with the AINP on J&AF for conducting the Adaptive trials in different states to find out the feasibility of new varieties for higher productivity in the jute and allied fibre growing states.
